Commerce as an academic discipline was recognised by the Osmania University long ago and relevant subjects like Trade, Business, Economics and Industry were recommended for study at the undergraduate level. The course has become popular and students opted for the subject keeping in view its relevance in the modern context.

Thirty Eight years of marathon race have not dampened the sprit of achievement and competition. The Indian Institute of Management and Commerce has been marching ahead rendering yeoman services in the field of Higher Education, especially Commerce Education. It should not be construed as blowing one's own trumpet to declare, very proudly too, that the alumni of this reputed Institution have brought laurels both to themselves and Institution.

The Indian Institute of Management and Commerce(IIMC) established more than three decades ago(year 1973) has to its credit some outstanding achievements in the field of Commerce Education in general and Honours course in particular at the Degree level. Eminent social workers and philanthropists and Educationalists like Sri Kothuru Seethaiah Gupta, Sri Challa Som Raj Ram, Sri C.E. Gupta, Sri Dundoo Balanarasaiah, Sri Narayana Chetty IAS(Retd.), Late Sri Veloor Lingaiah Gupta gathered together and laid solid foundation in starting this premier Institution. Members of Vysya Community in particular and admirers of Higher Education in general are greatly beholden to the Founders.

The Institution was initially started with Honours Degree Course but subsequenlty B.Com(Computers), B.Com(General) and Post-Graduation course M.Com were added. Only Honours is fully Aided. In addition BCA and B.Sc(Computers) courses are also made available. There is unprecedented demand for admission not only in professional and traditional courses like B.Com(Honours) but also in Computer, General B.Com sections, apart from B.Sc courses.

Both UG and PG courses are affiliated to Osmania University. The Institution has made a remarkable progress and students are eager to seek admission in large numbers. The Management evices keen interest in providing all types of facilities by providing Highly Qualified Lecturers, Computer and Commerce Labs, Library and Reading Room, Well-furnished classrooms, Games Room, Water-Cooling machine and well maintained toilet rooms-separate for lady staff members and girl students. It is taken care to see that students do not regret joining this popular Institution.

The administration gives top-most priority to regular attendance, punctuality and general discipline. The ambience is so perfect that ragging and teasing are out of question in our Institution. Many parents have expressed their satisfaction very frankly and openly regarding the discipline and congenial atmosphere. Many types of schloarships are available to encourage students to participate in curricular and extra-curricular activities.

The Government, University and Academic bodies are greatly appreciative of the academic work rendered in this college by our Teaching and Non-teaching staff.
